History
Dr. Mario: Vitamin Toss was added to Speedrun.com on April 1st, 2017.[2] There is only 1 category on the speedrun.com leaderboard which is Any%. The first run submitted was on April 9th, 2017, 6 days after the game was added. It was a 27s run by _-_STAR_fox_-_. 1 day later, _-_STAR_fox_-_ brought the time down to a 23s run, and on the same day, Jumpyluff brought it down to 20 seconds. The leaderboard became highly contested in this small community, with many runners getting under 25 second runs, and there are currently 18 runners who have sub 25 second runs. On February 11th, 2019, merpell got a new world record with a time of 19 seconds. A year later, he improved his time by 1 second, getting an 18 second run on January 6th, 2021. There are currently only 4 runners to have a sub 20 second run in this game, with merpell being the only person to get an 18 second run. ResolutionSSB, Towny, and csercser3, all are tied with a 19 second run for second place.
