10 Misconceptions Your Boss Shares Regarding Trio Bunkbed
Pumpkin Hill is the 6th stage in the Hero story on Sonic Adventure 2. Knuckles is used to play this stage.
Speed Tips
Rising start: a general tip for this level
Recall that Pumpkin Hill has a strange reaction to what would be a fall out. You'll normally get blown back up into the air when that happens rather than getting killed. This reaction can be manipulated to shoot you into the air at a different, unusual time--namely, at the start of your next life. Start by gliding to the edge of the level. You'll know you're there when you get turned around automatically. Now move back into the invisible wall you got turned around from, but don't glide. You'll be lifted up by the updraft at the bottom of the level. Remain moving against the wall, and just fall. This time, you'll fall through and record a death. Note that Knuckles is still falling. Once you see him vanish, tap A twice. This triggers the updraft again, but the screen fades out before Knuckles can pass back up through the kill plane, so it wants to continue boosting him up. As a result, you'll start out the next life getting a big upward boost quicker than you would normally be able to make the ascent.
Mission 1
This is a treasure-hunting stage. The general hunting tips apply. The best locations are:
Piece 3: "Flattened grass" Use the rising start, and head toward Ghost Train Mountain. You'll see spinning spikeballs and an oval track (minus one ghost train). At one end of the track, the spikeballs will go over a patch of orange grass. Dig where that grass is and you just might grab piece 3.
Piece 2: "Twin skulls" Head toward Church Mountain. Fairly low down, you'll find two flamethrowing skulls. The piece is in the cove, between those skulls. Just don't get hit by the fire while trying for the piece, which would be dumb.
Piece 1: "The tombstone guarded by four skulls" Use the rising start here. Once you have pieces 3 and 2, spend each life killing yourself off in the prescribed method, and start flying. If you have the correct piece 1, the radar will turn green as you fly up. Glide forward from the boost, and aim for the platform just ahead. Behind the tombstone is the final piece.

Mission 2
Use the rising start for as much air as you can, and glide to the top of Church Mountain. Get 1 ring and run into the ghost here for an intentional hit. This makes the Back ring appear at the start of the level. Go back and get the other 5 rings on the orange ledge. Dive down and to the left to get the 10 balloon that's in the air above a low ledge of the mountain, then get another 10 balloon that's in front of the start and the 20 that's behind it. Tag the Back ring to keep your 45 and make all rings regenerate.
On the second trip, head backward and get the 20 again, then go forward to the 10 for 75. Turn right at the fork, and follow the thin connector path to get 5 more rings. Take the rocket up to Ghost Train Mountain. You'll see a balloon; glide to it and another balloon will appear, so repeat this process. It continues for 4 balloons, each of which has 5 rings to get to 100 total.

Mission 3
Here's a short one. Use the rising start for as much air as you can, and glide toward the rocket at the top of Church Mountain. You should be able to reach it without climbing anything. Once the rocket disappears, immediately glide ahead and you'll see a floating platform in the sky. You can hit the side of it, so do that (being sure to quick climb and ledge jump as always) and punch once at the top to accelerate to full speed. Then run forward through more floating platforms and tag the Chao at the end.

Mission 5
TODO
Note: There's a new strategy in development that could potentially cut 9 seconds off the existing record here, but as of now it's believed that there's barely not enough time to pull it off.
