Welcome to Speedrunwiki!

Speedrunwiki is a videogame strategy website dedicated to the theory and practice of advanced videogaming. Speedrunwiki also records the history of advanced videogaming and celebrates important figures in that history.

This is about man versus machine. This is about taking gaming above and beyond. Faster times. Higher scores. More insane stunts. Stuff you didn't think was humanly possible. If you already know what you're doing, and want to know how to do it a hell of a lot better, you have come to the right place.

This is NOT GameFAQs. We will not explain the controls, hold your hand or walk you through. This is not a site for idiots or slow learners. Be prepared to hit the ground running. Be prepared for SPOILERS.

Other things Speedrunwiki is NOT about

  • emulated play
  • tool-assisted runs
  • GameSharks
  • just plain cheating
  • online Starcraft
  • deathmatch Quake, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Unreal Tournament
  • the Cyberathletes' Professional League
  • in general, multiplayer gaming

To put it simply, this is man versus machine. Not machine-assisted man versus machine, and not man versus man, although there's nothing wrong with that. This is about pounding the computer into a bloody pulp.
