Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue are RPG that were released in September of 1998 by Nintendo and developed by Game Freak. They were released simultaneously with each other Both Speed Demos Archive and speedrun.com have leaderboard of Pokémon Red and Blue.

The game can be played on Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advanced, 3DS Virtual Console, Super Game Boy, etc.

Plot

The game follows the story of a young Pokémon trainer. He wishes to become a Pokémon master before his rival and also tries to put an end to the dastardly deeds of Team Rocket. [1]

General Tips

  • Clear any existing save file by pressing Up + B + Select on the title screen if you play the game with console.
  • Set text speed to FAST, battle animation to OFF and battle style to SHIFT
  • Give your character and your rival a name with one character.

Trainer AI

The trainer AI is mostly random. Some of the trainers are a little smarter. There are three possible AI. The most prominent one is the third one, which causes certain trainers to always use moves of their Pokémon that are super effective against your Pokémon.

All trainer-owned Pokemon have 0 stat experience and 8 DV in every stat, except Attack in which they have 9 DV.
