SEGA Rally 2 (セガラリー2) is an arcade rally-racing game developed and released by SEGA in 1998 as a sequel to SEGA Rally Championship. <ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Rally_2</ref>. The game was later ported to Dreamcast and PC in 1999, with notable differences existing between arcade and console to warrant separate record-keeping categories. The game features more tracks, modes and vehicles than its predecessor, with the Peugot 306MAXI being the fastest but hardest to control and the Lancia Stratos coming close second. Beginner players tend to use the easier-to-control Corolla WRC for learning the game at the cost of slower speed. The most popular category is beating the game's Arcade Championship mode.
The official [https://web.archive.org/web/20020120171824/http://segarally.com/ segarally.com] allowed Dreamcast & PC runners to submit their times to a leaderboard that featured weekly & overall rankings.

It is a continuation of an older defunct [https://web.archive.org/web/20021204073055/http://www1.odn.ne.jp/xrf/record.html Japanese site], and features WR progression charts dating back to 1999.
[http://ir3d.netgamers.jp/segarally2/PC_02-text.html ir3d netgamers] hosted replay files of top times for the PC mode, allowing players to download and race against ghosts of other's records. It also featured leaderboards for the other modes of Practice, Time Attack and the console exclusive mode 10-Year Championship.
The game was added to [https://www.speedrun.com/segarally2/ speedrun.com] in November 2016, with runners being required to provide video proof of their runs. SRC allows for runs done on emulators.

=== Arcade Championship ===
The Arcade Championship mode (commonly denoted "CS" in the Japanese community) is a multi-course race through four tracks of increasing difficulty: DESERT SS1, MOUNTAIN SS2, SNOWY SS3 and RIVIERA. This is classed as a "Full Game" run on SRC with separate categories for arcade and console as well as real hardware or emulator. In-game time is preferred.

=== 10 Year Championship ===
The 10 Year Championship mode was added to the Dreamcast & PC ports, it features 10 individual events each consisting of four races. This is classed as a "Full Game" run on SRC, where runners have to complete all 10 individual years and add up the IGT of each event for a final time alongside the option to submit the full RTA time. The old ir3d netgamers site hosted leaderboards for each of the 10 individual events.

SRC hosts Practice runs in its "Individual Leaderboard" section, separating categories for each platform as well as hardware vs emulator and including fastest lap times. Another mode exclusive to the console ports, Time Attack allows the player to time trial all CS courses without the game over time limit plus extra courses in the game for 3 laps. SRC includes leaderboards for Time Attack full course and fastest laps in the "Individual Leaderboard" section. Leaderboards were also hosted on ir3d netgamers.
