'''Michael Fried''' is a Mario Kart player, an active forum poster (currently going by "Darth Friedious" on the forum), an MKDS staff member, an AIM+MSN chatter, a strong believer in the kart gods, and someone who's desperately trying to think of more titles for himself for the sole purpose of lengthening his bio.  He has played 4 Mario Kart games, [[Super Mario Kart]], [[Mario Kart 64]], [[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]], and [[Mario Kart DS]].  He also owns [[Mario Kart Super Circuit]], and may or may not start playing it in the near future depending on how long it takes him to recover from his Mario Kart DS addiction.

Michael Fried is currently playing [[Mario Kart DS]], in which he was continuously the world champion for about the first 3.5 months after the game's release until he lost his title to [[Miguel Rodriguez]]. He plans on starting to play [[Mario Kart Super Circuit]] soon.  The Mario Kart game he's spent the most time on and considers himself most skilled at is Mario Kart 64.  He holds one world record in Mario Kart 64, for [[Yoshi Valley]] fast lap.  He is also the first person to land the [[Rainbow Road (MK64)|Rainbow Road]] spiral shortcut on all 3 laps.

Michael is a fairly average karter in each of the 4 Karts he has played, but has managed to use trickery to convince everyone else to continue improving at only a single Kart, and has thereby secured his title of [http://www.mariokart64.com/combinedranks/ best all-round karter] until the end of time... or at least until people discover his evil plan.  Although he doesn't play more than 1 Kart at a time, he keeps up with new strats for the various games and watches videos, so he is well prepared if he decides to make a return to one of the games.

Michael Fried is well known on the Mario Kart Forum where he is one of the most active posters. He is also a proof moderator for the [[Mario Kart DS]] page in the [[mariokart64.com|Mario Kart community]], and an administrator of this wiki site, [[speedrunwiki.com]].

Even though he is naturally very competitive, Michael is never selfish when it comes to sharing strategies as he considers it important to strengthen the overall strength of times in a game, not just his own. He often explains strategies to people through AIM or MSN, and sometimes posts detailed strategies on the forum. In all 4 Karts he's played, he's had a very good history of providing plenty of video proof.

Michael plays many kart games, and is highly ranked in each. As such, he is currently the [http://www.mariokart64.com/combinedranks/ 'most-complete' Mario Kart player] across all kart games. He has achieved hi-score records in many other games, including [[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]], the [[Donkey Kong Country]] series, and various online Flash games.

Michael Fried is currently playing Mario Kart DS, in which he was continuously the world champion for about the first 3.5 months after the game's release (at one time even holding all 64 [[WR]]s at once) until he lost his title to [[Miguel Rodriguez]].  He finally reclaimed his title from Miguel, but shortly after lost it to [[Thomas Bolton]] and is currently ranked 2nd.

 

Despite being ranked lower than he is in MKDS, the Kart Michael has spent the most time on and considers himself most skilled at is Mario Kart 64.  He holds one world record, for [[Yoshi Valley]] fast lap.  He is also the first person to land the [[Rainbow Road (MK64)|Rainbow Road]] spiral shortcut on all 3 laps, and he discovered a new strat that saves .1 in Frappe Snowland. He is currently ranked 7th.

 

Michael played Super Mario Kart for a relatively short amount of time.  He didn't get near the top before retiring, but he did manage to reach God (by the old standards).  He also had a former WR in KB1 trick flap.  He is currently ranked 29th.

 

 

 

Michael has contributed to the [[mariokart64.com|Mario Kart community]] in various ways (besides the strat and vid help mentioned earlier).  He is a proof moderator for the [[Mario Kart DS]] site.  He finds all the fastest MKDS videos around and uploads them to [http://thengamer.com/MKDS a site].  He updates the list of [http://www.mariokart64.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1146526653 MKDS WRs based on all known sites].  He created the famous [http://www.studentswimmer.co.uk/mk/pwnage.html Halford standards] for MK64.  He is currently working on creating standards for MKDS.  And most importantly, he is currently the person in charge of writing this bio.  He is also an administrator of this wiki, [[speedrunwiki.com]].  Which means that if you don't help me improve this bio by making it sound less arrogant then I can ban you!

 

In addition to Kart games, Michael also plays several other games.  His favorite game series is The Legend of Zelda series. He has competed for fast times and high scores in various games including [[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]], [[Diddy Kong Racing]], the [[Donkey Kong Country]] series, and various online Flash games.
