+Outside of the Elite, Mike is an accomplished musician. He has played trumpet for 15 years and hopes to someday make a living out of it. He also plays piano and composes. Mike holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in computer science and one in music theory/composition. He plans to pursue a Master's degree in trumpet performance. Mike also enjoys poker and Scrabble, though he doesn't play either of these often due to his lack of free time. However, he did win the annual poker game at the 2009 Virginia meet. He is also an occasional programmer, as evidenced by the projects listed above.
