Final Fantasy 8
I am doing a Final Fantasy 8 speed run guide for this website and this website only so pleasany who would like to help and submit so glitches to get to places faster please add to the page Thank You,
can we add mksc to the speedrun site?
I think the sentence "This is about man versus machine" should be changed. It's a little misleading. "Man vs. machine" usually means that the man is competing against a machine at some kind of game. In this case, however, the machine is the game. Or were you referring to some other type of machine? Mjf314 22:09, 23 November 2007 (PST)
- This is man vs. machine in the same way that, say, rock climbing is man vs. mountain. The terrain is the challenge. Make sense? -- SamSim 11:25, 26 November 2007 (PST)
- I know what he meant. I'm just saying that it's misleading because "man vs. machine" is a commonly used phrase with a different definition. Mjf314 18:53, 26 November 2007 (PST)
"just plain cheating"
Just curious, but isn't glitch abuse obvious cheating? As is sequence breaking. IMHO. Where is the pride of speedrunning without breaking the rules in any way? Why, in order to be considered good, must one cheat in these ways? I'd think a 'perfect' or 'optimal' run would be one you do with no glitching or sequence breaking.... but maybe that's just me.--TheRogueX 14:03, 30 November 2007 (PST)
Glitch abuse and sequence-breaking are not cheating because they don't violate rules. You can create whatever sort of competition you want, with whatever rules you want, and then compete in it. It's not cheating unless you lie about it. There's no such thing as natural rules built into the game, unless you count intended game behavior as a rule, but in the world of competitive gaming, that's not usually what people mean by "rule", and certainly not the type of rule that has any relevance to cheating. Snub of Twingalaxies???
Why no love for Twingalaxies, the most official and legitimate of all highscore sites? Why don't you put it in the external links page? Or why don't you put in as part of what speedrunwiki is not: "a highscore site, for highscores see twingalaxies.com". I don't understand why you won't mention Twingalaxies. Perfect Dark XBLA Speedrun
Can we add a new page or a sub category for Perfect Dark speedruns on it's new Xbox version? There are speedrun videos on YouTube that I think belong here. Also, the character can move faster in this new Perfect Dark. Doesn't that mean there might be a new speedrun record for WAR? Another thing, where is the wiki logo?
