Piet den Dulk
From Speedrunwiki.com
Piet den Dulk is a Mario Kart: Double Dash!! player and Nintendo gaming veteran in the truest sense.
Piet started his hardcore gaming way back in the NES days when he kept a list of the games he had finished which numbered more than 120 at age 11. He felt an attraction to high-score gaming at this time, but had no one to share his passion with.
He attended official Dutch Nintendo Championships in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996 crossing paths with great gamers like Steven Zwartjes, Michael Liem, and Edwin Peeters. His greatest achievement in this era was beating Zwartjes in the final of a Wave Race 64 tournament. He retired from tournament gaming in 1999.
After a long break from gaming he was eventually convinced to buy a Gamecube and MKDD got him back into the gaming world. He's worked his way up the Hero rank and #100 on the site as of July 2006, and has dipped into double-digits a few times. He's found a nice niche in the community and has been a respected forum poster for the past 2 years. He has been a gamer in many gaming generations: the pre-Internet days, the pioneer days of N64HS, and in the modern era.
