Paul Tanney
From Speedrunwiki.com
Paul Tanney has been a member of the Kart community for around 5 years (Nov 2003) starting off with MKDD and continued by submitting times for all Kart games apart from MKSC. He managed to reach #1 on MKDD for a short time (but if you want to count #1 by 60hz like Moly, then it's around 2 months lol) but remained a top 10 player for over 2 years since the site was made before finally falling out of it.
He helped the site out by updating and being a UK proof moderator for MKDD along with being a forum moderator for the MKDD section. Paul supplied many videos to help others out and being the first player to have 32/32 god time videos (old god standards). After so long out of the game Paul still manages to hold a high rank on the site, currently #23. (Damn A-Tech making people pass me.) :)
Since MKDD was his first time trial kart game he never really got into the time trialing side of SMK and MK64. Though he could get round to them some time in the future. Paul also made a short apperance in MKDS before moving back to MKDD.
Paul has started playing MKW and (at time of writing) is #10 on the site. He has held a few WR/SR in this game also while making videos to help others in the process. He also took part in the London Meet in 2006 along with over 20 other karters who attended (several different countries).
He tries his best to stay active in the message boards and to help others improve.
Paul reached the last 8 in the 2004 Karter Contest before falling out to William Lacey; he also helped create the Karter Contest that year.
But before Mario Kart Paul time trialed in Wave Race Blue Storm. He reached #3 on the site he was part of (sadly this site is no longer avaliable).
He also plays a number of other games such as Pro Evolution, Guitar Hero & Virtua Tennis.
Recently entering tournaments he came close to both top prizes. Pro Evolution 2008 was the first tournament he ever entered. Reaching the last 32 in the end, with the winner scooping £50'000 and reaching the semi finals in the MKW Grand Final Tournament with the winner scooping a new car and a wii. So close but it wasn't to be! Though he did manage to win himself £250 for reaching the finals in MKW and a few nights in a hotel in London with his fiancee (yay!) :)
